Welcome to siyaJabula siyaKhula.
siyaJabula siyaKhula is a non profit organisation dedicated to assisting South African learners to achieve at school by working with school communities. Our name, siyaJabula siyaKhula means ?We are happy we are growing?.
We exist as a learning support organisation to make it possible for parents to support the process of education on behalf of learners, schools and departments.
Our organisation provides support to learners, schools and education departments by employing unemployed parents and members of school communities. The parents are trained to provide specially designed interventions to learners, under the guidance of experienced education specialists.
All processes and interventions take place within a monitoring and control framework. This ensures that service delivery is of consistent quality, and the integrity of reporting and accountability is maintained. As an added benefit, learner progress is guaranteed through the early identification of knowledge gaps, and the supply of extra remedial tuition.
With the exception of specialised positions, the entire siyaJabula siyaKhula organisation is staffed by unemployed parents and members of school communities. In alignment with the guiding principles of the organisation, each member is remunerated for their services. This provides employment within the communities, and generates social spin offs in terms of quality of life and economic growth. Staff members, known as support providers within siyaJabula siyaKhula, also benefit from training and work experience.
Servicing Gauteng province?s entire learner population of 1,894,027 learners will create in excess of 22,000 jobs, and servicing the entire national learner body (12,239,363 learners) will create a total number of jobs in excess of 156,000. Our organisation?s processes and interventions are designed with these figures in mind, and the organisation is structured in such a way that a national rollout can be completed by the end of 2011.
In addition to providing learner interventions, siyaJabula siyaKhula provides a number of other compatible services designed to improve the overall quality of education. These include the supply, distribution and circulation of educational resources to ensure all schools have access to the same quality of material; provision of teaching resources, learning aids and educational games; and teacher training and support.
Education departments derive further benefit in that the distribution and circulation services provide a mechanism for the rapid distribution and control of educational material to the schools.
